Not to be rushed

Beautifully scored and photographed it entices you into the story. Brad Pitt manages to give a performance of a man unhinged by his own reputation yet still give him a certain vulnerability. Casey Affleck is the assassin finally driven to his act but unable to look his victim in the eye. Not too many of the characters are portrayed with any sympathy but you still manage to care about them.The best western I've seen for a while.

Breathtaking, beautiful, brilliant and one of the past decade's finest films

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is an absolute masterpiece and a near-flawless film. It beautifully captures a lyrical tale of a complex relationship between two contrasting characters and the technical work is remarkable and sets an immaculate tone. Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck also deliver excellent performances and truly portray the leading characters with the just right characterization. Nick's Cave score too is fantastic and thoroughly rich.This film is just as great as There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is a fine example of a film which fully utilizes the cinematic medium to create an all-round sublime work of art and its sheer beauty is mesmerizing. It instantly became one of my favourite films as it is perfect and masterful in all aspects. Highly recommended for anyone who loves films.

Love it!

I love this film. It is filmed with a narrator, which adds to its attraction in my eyes. Brilliant acting from all involved and an interesting look at James' life, family, acquaintances and ultimately, his death. Also interesting to see the portrayal of Robert Ford. Brad Pitt has definitely improved with age. A wonderful film.
